Hello Grace lutheran students and parents!  As we look forward to another great school year here at Grace I want to update you on a few happenings for this fall.  Firstly, the 4/5/6 girls basketball season will be upon us shortly.  I have yet to set a specifc start date as I am waiting to receive are game schedule, but players and parents you can tentatively plan on starting the week of Sept. 8th.  Handouts with details will be coming soon.  Also listed below is a general overview of all our athletic seasons.   Secondly, are Jog-A-Thon dates are set for Sept. 18-19th so you can keep that in mind as well.  I will also be sending home information on that very soon.  I am looking forward to intergrating some new things into the Physical Education program this year and also hope to make better use of the website so you can keep up with all our physical education and athletics happenings throughout the year.  As always, feel free to contact me or stop by anytime!  Thanks for all your support!

A General Overview of Grace Lutheran’s Athletic Seasons for 2008-2009 School Year

7/8 Volleyball
• Begins late August
• Games start early September
• Season ends mid October

4/5/6 Girls’ Basketball
• Practice begins in early September
• Season ends around the end of October
• Approximately 10 games are played (usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays)
• All practices and home games are held at Grace

7/8 Girls’ Basketball
• Practice starts around the end of October
• Games start in early November
• Season ends right before Christmas
• Approximately 9 games and a tournament are played

7/8 Boys’ Basketball
• Practices start first week of January
• Games begin in mid January
• Season ends around the first week in March
• Games are played at Oak Grove unless there is a conflict

4/5/6 Boys’ Basketball
• Practice begins mid to late January
• Games begin first week in February
• Season ends around first week in March
• Games are played at Grace Lutheran

4/5/6 Volleyball
• Practice begins the first week of March
• Games begin middle of March
• Season ends end of March
• We hope to expand this season this year

7/8 Football
• Interested boys need to contact Oak Grove
• Approximately 10-12 games are played
• Team is actually through F-M Athletics this year


All 7th and 8th athletes must get a physical before they begin practice.
